Cosmetic, Esthetic, Natural, Veneers, White, and Bright.  All of these are catch phrase words.  Sure we’re all looking at having whiter teeth, and we are wondering “Does it rally work, and is it safe”?  The answer is maybe and maybe.  Like white snowflakes that fall from the sky, each individual has different teeth.

A different way to answer you question is YES we can whiten your teeth and enhance your smile, BUT bleaching may not be the appropriate solution.

Bleaching works by penetrating the tooth and whitening the tooth from the inside.  Yes, it is generally safe and works with no other treatment necessary for probably 80 percent of the population.  It is generally safer than even some of the whitening toothpastes on the market, which are very abrasive and can wear away the gums.  Bleaching will not lighten tooth colored filling or crowns and may cause a dental infection if you bleach while cavities are present.

What about the 20 percent of the population that bleaching does not work for?
