Lewis T. Porter, age 80 of Buford, passed away on Monday, November 17, 2003. Mr. Porter was born in Franklin County, was a member of West Buford Baptist Church, was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II and was a retired receiving clerk with Sears. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Imogene Porter, Buford; sons, Ron Porter, Lilburn, Lanny Porter, Bethlehem; 3 grandchildren, Dewayne Porter, Sugar Hill, Beth Porter, Gillsville, Nathan Brown, Bethlehem; great granddaughter, Ansley Brown; sisters, Lessie Teems, Cumming, Thelma Thrasher, Lonia Roberts, both of Buford; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 20, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Tapp Funeral Home. Rev. Arthur Southerland, Rev. Richard Watts, and Rev. Chris Fowler will officiate and burial will follow in Broadlawn Memorial Gardens. Mr. Fred Wilburn, age 68, of Dacula, Georgia died Saturday, November 15, 2003 at Gwinnett Medical Center. The family will receive friends at the residence. Memorial services for Mrs. Julie Allene Holland, 94, will be held at 11 A.M., Saturday, November 22, 2003, in the Riverside Avenue Christian Church with Dr. Richard J. Hull officiating. Born July 25, 1909 in Suwanee, Georgia, Mrs. Holland died Monday, November 17, 2003 in Jacksonville. She was retired as Administrative Assistant with the Decatur, Georgia, City Schools. Mrs. Holland was a member of Southside Baptist Church and a former member of First Baptist, Baptist Church in Decatur, GA and Sheridan Hills Baptist Church in Hollywood, FL. Survivors include her daughter, Mrs. Jo Holland Alexander of Jacksonville; her son, Willis A. Holland of Tallahassee, FL; a sister, Mrs. Joyce Green Sims of Lawrenceville, GA; two brothers: Nat Green of Jacksonville, and A.T. Green of Winder, GA; 7 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.
