Q & A
Why are kids getting braces so early now?
Many sever orthodontic problems can be easily corrected
as earl as 7-8 years of age. The early correction can sometimes
prevent surgeries or tooth extractions. A brief, second
set of braces may be needed later to correct minor problems.
Children with minor problems can wait until they are older
and have nearly all of their adult teeth. All initial screenings
are FREE so that you may find out what is best for your
child.
When should my child be examined by an orthodontic?
The American Association of Orthodontists recommends that
all children receive an orthodontic screening by the age
of 7. Many severe orthodontic problems can be easily corrected
at an early age, while some children can wait until they
are older and have nearly all of their adult teeth. All
initial screening is FREE so that you may find out whate
is best for your child.
Do they still remove teeth for braces?
If seen by an orthodontist before growth is complete, the
jaws can be easily widened to make more space for the teeth.
These expanders have greatly reduced the number of teeth
that are extracted. The ideal age for the expanders is from
7-10 years old, but they can sometimes be done later. All
initial screenings are FREE, so come find out if you child
could benefit form expanders.
