DULUTH - Jennifer Wilbanks, the "runaway bride" who generated a media storm last summer, and fiance John Mason have broken up for good, according to John Mason's father, Claude Mason.

"We're just glad there's a final resolution," he stated to reporters. Mr. Mason added that he had planned to be his son's best man at the wedding.

Jennifer Wilbanks said that she and her former fiance have some things to work out.

Wilbanks would not confirm or deny a breakup and her mother Joyce Parrish also declined to comment.

Wilbanks disappeared four days before her scheduled wedding in April 2005. Hundreds of police officers and volunteers searched for her for three days before she called and contacted family.
