Antique Estate Jewelry Sales Soar During Difficult Economic Times

GDO Report

ATLANTA - How can it be that the sales of costly, high end, antique vintage estate jewelry would experience such high levels of activity at a time when most households are having significant problems making ends meet?

It turns out that family heirlooms are the last things anyone wants to part with to help make ends meet but many have exhausted all other means of dealing with their debts.  So after doing all they could to avoid parting with their treasures, it's finally come down to selling their estate jewelry and people are cashing in while market prices are still relatively high.

Under normal conditions, selling the "family jewels" seemed like some kind of act of betrayal to past and present generations but at this late stage of the game, many feel that it's understandable because there are simply no viable alternatives.  Given the choice between sending the kids to college or preserving family memories - parents are now ready to choose the former.

If great grandmother was with us today - we have to believe that she'd rather part with her jewelry to help improve the future lives of her great grand children through education.  In fact, it should be obvious that she'd be honored to know that she played such an important role in bettering the lives of her family members.

So more and more, families are parting with their antique valuables and there are plenty of individuals ready to pay significant amounts for these rare treasures.  They've been waiting a very long time for such opportunites and know they're few and far between.  They're also aware that anything they purchase today will only increase in value over time.  They were created in very limited numbers, they can't make any more and the number of people wanting to own them continues to grow over time.
