Jennifer Willbanks breakdown aftermath

GDO Report

DULUTH - What do we now know?

A week before her disappearance and about 10 days before her wedding - Jennifer Wilbanks' stress became increasingly unbearable.
So much so that she purchased a bus ticket just in case it's level became more than she could handle.
And that's exactly what happened.

For a moment, let's look at all the things she could have done.
Things people do when the stress in their lives becomes more than what they can handle.
Some people commit murder, suicide, arson and worse.

She didn't climb a tower with a rifle, she didn't harm anyone or anything.
She sat on a bus for a little less than 4 days, phoned her parents, found out the nation was franticly searching for her and her husband to be was being compared to Scott Peterson.

Once she learned what her actions had caused - only then did she depart from legal behavior - and only for a few minutes.
She made a false claim to authorities in a panic at a time when her state of mind was already askew.
And a few hours later she corrected it.

Another thing we now know is that we live in a community and a country where when someone goes missing - people spring to their feet.
By the hundreds and by the thousands, they do what they can to help - and they ask for nothing in return.
That's a good thing.

Jennifer wilbanks was in trouble and she was returned to safety.  She is now working on the problems that caused this incident.

One last good thing that came of all this, a nation had the honor of meeting a remarkable, courageous and wonderful young man.
A true son of the South.
John Mason is the voice of today's young men.
It's been a very long time since a strong and compassionate voice has been heard.

Things are getting better.  People are getting better.  We live in a good time.  And it's improving even more every day.
