Rumors had been circulating over the past several years of a new cigar that Drew Estate had been devoting every waking moment to developing. In fact, the stories surrounding ACID’s newest creation in over six years had all but grown to a level of what can only be compared to as an "urban legend."
Finally On Feb 28, Drew Estate released the long awaited ACID MING. The Gala took place at Smoke Inn’s flagship store in West Palm Beach FL, and in attendance were Drew Esate co-founders Jonathan Drew & Marvin Samel, Scott “Acid” Chester, Mike Cellucci, and Smoke Inn owners Abe Dababneh & John Dennehy. When asked about its development, founder Jonathan Drew commented, “Ming has been a long project that Abe and I have been developing. Abe wanted something special in a cameroon wrapper. After many blends, we were able to find the unique flavor that we were both pleased with. MING is a cigar we are particularly proud of, and felt it deserved the unique packing it comes in.” The MING is a 6 x 60 cigar packed uniquely in boxes of eight. Over 400 attendees throughout the night puffed away at the monster cigar while enjoying the culinary flair of local “Chef Richard”, and the sweet reggae sounds of local band “Sweet Justice”. The night was capped with a raffle for paid airfare and accommodations for a four day three night trip touring Nicaraguan cigar factories. The lucky winner was “Great things are worth waiting for, and Ming definitely falls in that category,” said Smoke Inn owner Abe Dababneh. “I was extremely pleased when Jonathan sent the final blend. It was exactly what I was hoping for and the construction and draw is superior. Our patrons have more and more been leaning toward “big” cigars, and at 6 x 60, Ming definitely falls into that category.” The Acid MING will be released nationally later this year. Currently it available at either of Smoke Inn’s South Florida’s locations in Tequesta, West Palm Beach, and their newest location by this summer, Port St. Lucie. |
