ATLANTA - There are 3 types of "Deadly Drivers" on our roads today. They comprise 100% of the 1.2 Million traffic accident related deaths around the world Each-Year.

"Distracted Drivers" are responsible for over 80% of the traffic related deaths on our roads today.  Those driving while texting or pre-occupied with other cellular functions, those with unruly children or other passengers - and those who simply have trouble focusing solely on important matters at hand - are just a portion of the distractions irresponsible drivers are preoccupied with each day.

"Drunk Drivers" or those under the influence of improper substances" - Of course are among the most dangerous.  We see no need to mention anything further for the purpose of this article.

"Drowsy Drivers"  Individuals driving without enough sleep.  Those working long hours, those truck drivers who drive long hauls and those with poor health who simply do not get nearly enough sleep.  We'll let those who get too little sleep fall under the Drunk Drivers classification because our CDC classifies the two similarly.  Someone without sleep for 48 hours is equivalent to a .08% or something similar.

Unfortunately, many individuals who die on our roads each day at the hands of one of these "Double D - Deadly Drivers" are often dying in vein.  They might have avoided or mitigated the accident that took their life if they only been warned in time.  Most accidents ARE avoidable today - thanks to Collision Avoidance Technology such as Mobileye's 560 provided by AmeriCam ATLANTA, near the Mall of Georgia.

Accident Avoidance Systems have been out for years now, and their cost is down below $1000 - Which is what most individuals' deductible is today. Still, the message has not been delivered or heard, and many people are dying in vein.

These days, the most likely individuals to see the value in accident prevention are mothers with children who are almost old enough to get their driver's license.  These days, throughout Greater Atlanta's suburbs, parents of children in their mid-teens are equipping their vehicles with Mobileye Accident Avoidance Systems.  Together - the entire family learns how to use the system to avoid accidents and also develop good, safe driving habbits.  And when the teen has their own car, usually the hand-me-down vehicle that already has the Mobileye system - They are then more than 50% safer on our roads today.

Imagine what our roads will be like when most of the cars on the road have Accident Avoidance Systems.  An early warning system or a "Collision Avoidance System" in one's car has proven to decrease the number of accidents resulting in injuries 27% in 2012 across the US.  And those with the units installed experienced over 40% fewer accidents with property damage.

Plus, system prices have not-only come down a great deal recently - but they're now available for used and pre-owned vehicles of almost every model and year.

Part 1 of 2 Part Story - To Be Concluded Friday September 26th.
